ART AT LALMA

"Tuscany, Beyond the Landscape"
Photographs by Andrea Testini Toscani at Lalma Café
From August 30 to September 30, Lalma Café hosts "Tuscany, Beyond the Landscape," a photography exhibition featuring some of the most iconic images by photographer Andrea Testini Toscani, offering a preview of his first editorial publication, the book "Works 2000-2025, Lights and Passion."
The Work on Display
The Val d'Orcia becomes a visual thread running through light, atmosphere, and emotion, in a journey that alternates between landscape, portrait, and storytelling. The relationship between light and subject is the recurring theme of the works: from the softness of Tuscan views to the expressive power of black and white, from portraits immersed in the landscape to natural details, through to night photography with its cinematic atmospheres.
Lalma Café, Via del Poliziano 38, Montepulciano. Open daily except Thursday, 9:00 AM-2:00 PM.

“STRIPES @ LALMA”
by Andrea Pisano
In 2026 Lalma Cafe presents in its premises two works from the “Stripes” series by contemporary artist and graphic designer Andrea Pisano.
With this permanent exhibition, the café strengthens its role as a place where gastronomy and culture meet.
The artworks reinterpret famous paintings from art history through delicate vertical bands of color that transform the image into a visual texture suspended between classical painting and digital language.
Moving between figurative memory and contemporary experimentation, Pisano’s work invites viewers to reflect on how images from the past can be reinterpreted in the present, creating a harmonious dialogue between art, atmosphere, and creativity at Lalma Cafe.

“MANUELA PETTI”
Nature’s Microcosm
Manuela Petti lives in Montepulciano and has long cultivated a deep passion for decorative arts, drawing, and artistic craftsmanship. Her creative journey stems from a careful observation of nature and a desire to translate its most authentic and quiet beauty onto canvas.
The works exhibited here portray the fauna and flora of the countryside surrounding Montepulciano, focusing on a microcosm that often goes unnoticed by the distracted eye, yet remains essential to the balance of life. Birds, mammals, wildflowers, and native plants become the protagonists of a visual narrative that invites viewers to slow down, observe, and rediscover the profound connection between every living being and its environment.
Through a sensitive and poetic gaze, the artist guides us into the discovery of a discreet yet essential world, reminding us that the wonder of nature is found not only in grand landscapes but also in the smallest and seemingly insignificant details. Her paintings become an invitation to contemplation, environmental awareness, and a renewed appreciation of the biodiversity that makes the Valdichiana and the Tuscan hills such unique and extraordinary places.
